FAQ
Real questions we hear from people using SynqHub today — answered honestly, including what isn't yet supported.
Note
This FAQ tracks the current state of the product. Things marked “not yet” are tracked on the roadmap; if one is blocking you, email team@synqhub.com so we can prioritize.#General
Do I need separate accounts for each organization I work with?+
Yes. A SynqHub account belongs to exactly one organization, and an email address can only belong to one account. If you consult for multiple orgs, they’ll each invite you with a different email (e.g. a personal alias).
Is my data isolated from other SynqHub customers?+
Every piece of data is scoped to an organization ID. Queries, API endpoints, and file storage all enforce this — other tenants can’t see your clients, invoices, or documents.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?+
You keep read-only access while we retain the data for the retention window. Exports to CSV are on the roadmap; if you need a full export before we ship that, contact team@synqhub.com.
#Invoicing & payments
Can I accept credit card payments on invoices?+
Not yet — the Pay Now button in the client portal is a placeholder. Today you record payments manually after they arrive in your bank, card terminal, or other system. Stripe and PayPal integrations are on the roadmap.
How do I change the currency on a single invoice?+
Open the invoice in edit mode and pick a different currency in the Details tab. The per-invoice value overrides your default in Settings → Billing & Tax.
My invoice numbering jumped — why?+
The counter increments on every create, including drafts that get deleted. That’s deliberate: sequence holes are auditable. If you want to reset the counter, contact team@synqhub.com — we’ll do it carefully.
Can I send recurring invoices automatically?+
Not yet. Today you duplicate an invoice manually each period. A recurring-invoice engine is planned.
#Clients & portal
Why can't my client see their invoices in the portal?+
Check three things: (1) portal access is enabled on the client’s Portal Access tab, (2) they have a password or a reset link was delivered, (3) they’re using the email on the client record. Leads can’t access the portal — convert to a client first.
Can clients upload files to the portal?+
Not directly — the Documents section is read-only from the client’s side today. Ask them to attach files when raising a support case or change request.
How do leads differ from clients in the database?+
They share the same record. The only difference is the
isLead flag, which reveals the Lead Details tab and hides the financial tabs. Unchecking it converts the lead — no data migration, no duplicates.#Projects
Can I have multiple boards per project?+
Not yet. Each project has a single Main Board with four stages: To Do, In Progress, Review, Done. Multiple boards and custom stages are on the roadmap.
What's the difference between Work Items, Targets, and Funding?+
Work Items are day-to-day tasks on the kanban. Targets are the big, client-visible milestones or deliverables. Funding is an audit trail of committed money — not an invoicing tool. Invoices still live under their own tab.
Does SynqHub track time against projects?+
Not yet. Time tracking and resource allocation are not implemented. For now, track time externally and reflect the total as the quantity on an hourly line item.
#Contracts
Is the e-signature legally binding?+
SynqHub captures the signature request, the signer’s confirmation, and the timestamp — which satisfies many jurisdictions for simple agreements. For contracts that require advanced electronic signatures (e.g. EU eIDAS qualified signatures, some HR contracts), use a specialised tool and attach the signed PDF via the Documents tab.
Can I use templates for contracts I send repeatedly?+
A template library isn’t in the product yet. The working pattern today: save a canonical contract with your merge placeholders in place, duplicate it for new clients, then tweak. Template management is planned.
#Admin & security
I lost my 2FA device and my backup codes. How do I get back in?+
If you’re the Owner and have no fallback, email team@synqhub.com from the email on file — we’ll verify identity and reset 2FA. If you’re not the Owner, ask them to disable 2FA on your user from the Users page.
Can I give someone view-only access to a specific project?+
Not with fine granularity yet. Roles are workspace-wide: Admin / Manager / Employee / Viewer. Per-project and per-client permissions are on the roadmap — today, use the Viewer role for broad read-only access.
Does SynqHub support SSO / SAML?+
Not yet. Single sign-on is a tracked request for Enterprise customers — reach out to team@synqhub.com if it’s a blocker.
Where can I see an audit log?+
For contracts, every status change lands in the Activity tab automatically. For login activity, see Settings → Security. A workspace-wide audit log is planned.
